POSSIBLE TEAM V EVERTON

Friends Of Liverpool

Liverpool face a big test of their top-four ambitions today as they make the short journey over to Stanley Park to face neighbours Everton in the first derby of the Season.

The International break did neither team any good what so ever as Liverpool had hit top form with a 4-0 romp over Fulham.

Also, with Luis Suarez flying around the World for Uruguay using John W. Henry’s private jet to get back to Anfield on Thursday.

Add in Gerrard and Sturridge playing foe England v Germany in a meaningless friendly, when clearly neither were fit, it has added to Brendan Rodgers problems in selecting a team to beat Martinez’s Everton.

However, as you do, you assess the players at your disposal come mid-week and then you decide on your team and tactics to defeat the opposition.

You go with what works and with Enrique’s knee injury, Cissoko should start, he is a good crosser of the ball and should do ok.

Lets hope Daniel Sturridge is fit and sharp, likewise with Luis Suarez after clocking up all those air-miles.

Ever the optimist, I am going for a 3-1 win for Liverpool to go top of the League temporarily, at least.
