Liverpool Rumours Round-Up

With Liverpool securing Champions League for next season, Liverpool look set to improve the squad with some top quality signing in summer. For the past week, there are rumours surrounding the Liverpool camp that Jurgen Klopp is ready to swoop in ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United with a £50 million move for French international, Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman was expected to make a move to Atletico Madrid this summer but the La Liga club saw a FIFA transfer ban upheld last week, leaving the door open for Lacazette to move elsewhere.

Lacazette scored 28 goals in 30 games in Ligue 1 this season, 21 league goals last season and 27 in 2014/15, showing his consistency in front of goal. With injury prone Daniel Sturridge facing an uncertain future, Liverpool could be tempted to make a move for the Ligue 1 attacker to spearhead the Reds attack ahead of their Champions League campaign next season. According to the report, Liverpool “could meet his advisors this week” to get the deal moving.

According to the mirror, it seems that Liverpool are locked on to another transfer battle with Merseyside rivals Everton for Anderlecht striker Lukasz Teodorczyk. Liverpool are said to be long-term admirers of the 25-year-old and Corriere Dello Sport claimed in December that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wanted him in January.

Everton who could lose talisman Romelu Lukaku this summer will be looking for a suitable replacement for their top scorer while La Liga club Sevilla are also said to be interested in the Polish striker, whose contract with the Belgium club expires in 2020.

Anderlecht £10m valuation of the player is yet to be met and it remains to be seen if Teodorcyzk, who netted five Europa League goals in eight starts last season, is the player that Liverpool needs.

Liverpool remain hopeful of reaching a contract solution with Emre Can despite an approach from Juventus. The Germany international has one year left on his current deal which means Liverpool are face running the risk of allowing the German international to leave for free next summer.

Liverpool remain confident that Emre Can will commit his future to the club as they continue to hold discussions with his representatives in order to reach an agreement.

Also, Can for the third summer in a row have been named in Germany’s squad for the Confederations Cup this month and thus he will miss the start of pre-season for Liverpool once again.

Liverpool are now set to make their move for Lazio frontman Keita Balde, who was being scouted by the Reds for nearly three years. The 22-year-old has failed to agree to a new contract and Jurgen Klopp is ready to make his assault.

Lazio are desperate to keep hold on to their Senegalese star but are aware that they may face losing him on a free transfer next summer. Liverpool will face tough competition from both AC Milan and Inter Milan as both clubs have already made contact with Keita’s representatives. However, it has been reported that the winger prefers a move to Juventus and has reportedly already agreed personal with the Serie A champions ahead of a summer move to Turin.

Another player being linked with Liverpool is RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner according to the Independent. The 21-year-old enjoyed a fine season, scoring more goals (21) than any other player aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues last season. His 21 goals helped fire Leipzig to a second-place finish in their debut season in the Bundesliga.
