JOE ALLEN SHOULD START INSTEAD OF EMRE CAN

Liverpool’s Welsh midfielder Joe Allen should play instead of Emre Can for Jurgen Klopp’s side against West Ham in the FA Cup on Saturday.

In fact he should be playing in most games for the Reds in future at the expense of the out of form and ineffectual German Emre Can, who, despite his average displays this Season, has featured in most of Liverpool’s crunch matches this Season and last.

The fact that Allen has 3 goals to his credit when only coming on as a sub most games speaks volumes about the character of the £15 million purchase-price when former Manager, Brendan Rodgers signed him from Swansea three years ago.

True, he has struggled to firmly establish himself in the Liverpool team since his arrival at Anfield but under Klopp he seems to have added an urgency to his game where he seems to play a more attacking role alongside Lucas Leiva.

His coolly taken penalty in the shootout against Stoke City seemed to finally Herald his arrival as a proper Liverpool player and he will continue to start more games this Season under Jurgen Klopp as Emre Can somehow keeps struggling in a Liverpool shirt this year, letting games pass him by while offering very little in the way of defence or attack.

Up to me? I would give Allen a start in the first team ahead of Can at this moment.
