PLAYER RATINGS V WEST HAM

Friends Of Liverpool

Liverpool huffed and puffed but failed to break-down a defensive West Ham United side at Anfield today.

Playing all the football, Brendan Rodger’s side had a goal by Sturridge ruled out for offside and a nailed-on penalty on Steven Gerrard denied by the referee.

In the end, Liverpool had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

It keeps them clear in 7th place, outside the top four but the chase for 5th place and Europe is still very much alive.

Player Ratings:

Reina: 7/10

Had to make a few saves in the 2nd half, was solid throughout.

Johnson: 7/10

Saw plenty of the ball, contributed well going forward.

Carragher: 7/10

Composed in defence, marshalled the backs well.

Agger: 8/10

Made one great block to prevent a Cole goal, looked assured.

Enrique: 7/10

Linked up well with Coutinho and Suarez, class full back.

Lucas: 7/10

Made some good interceptions including a goal-line clearance, allowing Gerrard play a more advanced role.

Henderson: 6/10

Was always involved in the midfield action.

Gerrard: 8/10

Dominated the match with his passing and attacking runs, should have had a penalty and had a shot blocked on the line.

Coutinho: 8/10

Ran at the packed defence time and again, tried his best.

Suarez: 7/10

Was well-shackled by Collison, bit wasteful with the ball, still a huge threat.

Downing: 6/10

Went off inside 35mins due to illness.

Sturridge: 6/10

Came on and had a goal wrongly ruled out for off-side, did ok.
