Peter talks to Mike Davies about Liverpools performance against Spurs and looks forward to Southampton on Sunday.
A crazy end to the game v Spurs firstly Mike , what was your take on the performance and decisions made by the officials?
What a crazy last few minutes in my opinion Jon Moss lost the plot his head went he was incapable of thinking straight under the pressure the first penalty for one Kane was offside personally I think he dived but he missed to irrelevant to the game as for the 2nd it’s clear to see again the spurs player was offside VVD also pulled his leg away and the lad jumped into him seen them give many a time Again moss lost it allowing the assistant to make the final decision who then seemed to celebrate.
What did you make of the team performance?
The team played very well 1st half not allowing Spurs anything and I feel if we had got a 2nd we would probably gone on to a comfortable win . Second half we allowed Spurs back in and started dropping off the pace allowing there midfield to win every battle this was also due to Spurs changing tactics.
Which players would you say stood out for you for Liverpool in this game?
I feel the two CB played very well together and to be fair Kane didn’t go a lot in the game Karius played well in goal and personally wouldn’t blame him for the first goal for his punch as a couple of our players had the chance to cheat further up field The shot was unstoppable no keeper would of got that .The whole back 5 were very good overall with Karius playing his best game for me in a Liverpool shirt I felt Firmino ran his socks off . Two dodgy calls by the officials cost us the game even though spurs pushed hard.
What did you make of the team line up for this game?
I felt the line up was ok apart from I would if played Gini instead of Milner that’s all.
Do you see many changes for the Southampton game ?
I would keep the same team with Gini in instead of Milner Maybe Gomez will come in for TAA
What is your score prediction and why v Saints please?
I feel we will have to much for Saints and come out winners by 4-0 plus VVD to score on his return to St Mary’s
