CLUB NEWS

Loris Karius has been reflecting on his journey to becoming the club’s No.1 this season and has admitted he has found it difficult adjusting to life at Liverpool since his move from Mainz in the summer of 2016.

Speaking to The Liverpool Echo, Karius said: “ It was difficult in the start of the season but I didn’t do too bad.”

“I’ve been working well on the training pitch. My head is right. I feel like I’ve learned a lot from last season and I feel good.”

Jurgen Klopp is up for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for the month of January. The German has been nominated after leading the club to wins over Burnley and Huddersfield Town.

Klopp was also the first manager to inflict defeat on Manchester City this season, beating Pep Guardiola’s side 4-3 at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino has been receiving praise from a Liverpool legend who knows a thing or two about playing as a number nine at Anfield.

Robbie Fowler has been speaking highly of the Brazilian who has netted 19 goals in all competitions this season.

Speaking at a training session for the Liverpool v Bayern Munich legends game which takes place at Anfield next month, Fowler said: “Jurgen gives him the opportunity to roam around in the final third of the pitch and he does, his energy is tremendous and he creates chances and scores goals.

“However, he has got a little bit more in his locker—the type of goals he scores he can score out of nothing.”

LADIES

Liverpool Ladies endured a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Arsenal Women in the Women’s Super League last night.

Scott Rodgers’ side are still in third place in the table following the defeat. However, Arsenal women have now closed that gap to one point.
