Liverpool’s new Goalkeeper? The Skippers return and Brewster’s Injury

Afternoon Bulletin

Transfer News

Jürgen Klopp’s hunt for a new goalkeeper seems to have started as the club have had an offer rejected by Roma for their shot stopper, Alisson. The 25-year-old Brazilian has been linked with a move to Anfield for a while now with Liverpool’s number one spot up for grabs.

Klopp has also stated that Emre Can will not leave the club this month. The German, who’s contract runs out in the summer, has been linked with a move away to Juventus. Klopp said this:

“Sometimes a player just wants to sit out his contract. That’s not cool for the club, but there are moments in which you have to accept it. And as long as the player behaves like Emre does, then I have absolutely nothing to complain about. He gives everything he has and identifies with the club.”

It seems as if Klopp will let his 24-year-old engine leave the club for nothing at the end of the season.

Liverpool and Tottenham target, Javier Pastore, is set to return to Italy instead of moving to a Premier League club. The Argentine moved to PSG from Palermo in 2011. But after struggling for game time this season the attacking midfielder has looked for a move away from the French giants.

Monaco’s Senegalese winger, Keita Balde, is up for grabs with the clubs sporting director saying they’re ready to cash in on the 22-year-old. Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked to the pacy wide man. The former Lazio man only joined the cub in the summer for £30million.

Team News

Club captain, Jordan Henderson, could be in with the chance of starting for the first time since his hamstring injury against Huddersfield tomorrow night. The England midfielder made a substitute appearance in the disappointing defeat to West Brom and is looking to take his place back in the starting eleven.

Adam Lallana could miss out on the match-day squad after he couldn’t play in the FA Cup tie on Saturday. The former Southampton man has missed a lot of the season through a thigh injury. Klopp confirmed before the West Brom game he suffered a small muscle tear.

Youngsters

Liverpool’s highly rated 17-year-old, Rhian Brewster, could be out for around four months after having surgery on his ankle. The U-17 world cup winner was stretchered off in a U-23 match against Manchester City.

Yesterday the U-23 side beat Derby at Prenton Park. Ovie Ejaria’s late goal takes Neil Critchley’s team 4 points clear at the top of the Premier League 2.
