West Ham V Liverpool Fan Interview with Scott Boyle @scootb1967

Match Preview Liverpool

Peter Phillips talks to West Ham fan Scott Boyle in this week’s fan interview:

Peter Phillips: After going 2 up against Palace on Saturday and with the game ending 2-2 what went wrong for West Ham?

Scott Boyle: Our confidence is very low at the moment and individual mistakes are happening on a regular basis. If the truth be known basically a school boy would have known to take the ball into the corner in injury time but Antonio chose to cross it!! You all know what happened next. Also, stats show that our fitness levels are below every other team in the premiership.  This sort of stat does not bode well when playing against a team like Liverpool and they way the press the opposition.

PP: Slaven Bilic was apparently given 2 games to turn things around at the club if he fails to get anything from the Liverpool game will his time be up at West Ham?

SB: I don’t think he’ll go if we lose to Liverpool unless the performance is similar to that of Newcastle, Brighton and first half vs Spurs. The Watford game could be the decider for his future.

PP: Which players have stood out for you so far this season for your team?

SB: I don’t think anyone has particular stood out for West Ham this season but I’d go with James Collins.  He has 3 clean sheets in 4 appearances. Another player is Pablo Zabaleta, his experience has made a difference in an area of the pitch we’d struggled in for a while.

PP: Will Bilic be looking to make many changes to the line up for the Liverpool game?

SB: Would expect Pedro Obiang to come in and replace Edimilson Fernandes. The truth is we don’t have a great deal of options at the moment.

I’d also be tempted to play Antonio considering what he’s done against Moreno in the past. The difficulty lies in who do you drop because Ayew has hit a bit of form finally!

PP: Who from the Liverpool side do the Hammers fear the most?

SB: Despite missing Sadio Mane, Liverpool’s front 3 of Firmino, Salah and Coutinho is enough to worry any team, let alone one that has one of the worst defensive records in the league.

PP: What is your score prediction and why?

SB: I`ll go for 3-1 to Liverpool. I feel we can threaten from set-pieces like we did against Tottenham, however Liverpool’s high intensity approach will be too much for a West Ham team lying bottom of the table for distance covered and sprints per game!!
