Simon Mignolet – 7
Dealt well with Burnley’s more direct approach, and looked confident in a sometimes-crowded penalty area but was once again left exposed for the goal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 5
Was at fault in the buildup to Burnley’s goal and often lost possession with his wayward final balls.
Joel Matip – 6
His mix-up with Klavan gifted the ball to Arfield for his goal but did otherwise produce a decent defensive performance whilst once again showing his expansive passing capabilities.
Ragnar Klavan – 5
Looked nervy on the ball resulting in the crowd taking a deep breath every time he received the ball and his lack of chemistry with Matip was demonstrated in their ‘pre-goal mix-up’.
Andy Robertson – 7
Was fairly muted in the first-half – maybe because Coutinho kept ignoring him on the overlap – but did receive more of the ball in the second-half and created some excellent deliveries.
Emre Can – 6
Played in the deeper midfield position but appeared lost and frustrated at times.
James Milner – 6
Looked fresh after not starting for a month and put in a solid performance.
Philippe Coutinho – 7
Was at the heart of the creativity in the Liverpool attack – especially in the second-half – produced one mesmerising run in which he took on a handful of Burnley players although his shooting was wayward, to say the least.
Mohamed Salah – 8
Scored and impressed once again – could have had a penalty late on when brought down by Mee.
Roberto Firmino – 6
Carried on his run of games as a passenger – failed to really impose himself on the match, or the Burnley defence for that matter.
Daniel Sturridge – 7
Intelligent movement, clever interplay and good close-control resulted in him having a good game but did tend to drift out of the area, and thus was not able to finish off some promising attacks.
Burnley
Nick Pope – 8
Although he seemed to spend most of the first-half timewasting, it was an impressive Premier League debut and was forced to make a number of decent saves.
Matthew Lowton – 7
Was responsible for marking Coutinho and stuck to his task, forcing the Brazilian to take many long-range shots.
James Tarkowski – 8
Leader in the Burnley defence and looked assured even when Liverpool were laying siege on the Burnley goal.
Ben Mee – 8
Solid performance – could have scored with a header and conceded a penalty late on.
Stephen Ward – 7
Was forced to work hard containing Salah and thus had little energy to join in Burnley’s intermittent attacks.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson – 6
Helped Lowton to minimise Coutinho’s influence on the game with relative success.
Steven Defour – 6
At the heart of the Burnley midfield, was responsible for starting a lot of Burnley’s counter-attacks.
Jack Cork – 7
Acted as a strong defensive shield in front of the back four.
Scott Arfield – 7
Showed his quality and composure with well-taken finish that gave Burnley the point.
Robbie Brady – 6
Had to work hard for the team, but did nothing spectacular, especially in attack.
Chris Wood – 6
Couldn’t score his third goal in three matches but did act as an aerial threat.
