BT Sport kicks off the new FA Women’s Super League season this weekend, with the highly anticipated Merseyside derby.
To mark the grudge match, BT Sport went to the home of the derby and created a bespoke video which features top BT Sport pundit Michael Owen, WSL players and fans, discussing the overarching rivalry and history between the two teams.
The video, which features Michael Owen, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Gemma Bonner and Danielle Taylor discusses what the match means to fans and players across the game, and also what it means to the team that wins.
The WSL begins its new era, as they play a winter season for the first time. Everton Ladies will make their top-flight return against local rivals Liverpool Ladies at 7.45pm on Friday, September 22 on BT Sport 2.
