Dortmund star to replace Philippe Coutinho at Anfield?

According to reports, Liverpool will resurrect their interest in Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic if the £90million transfer of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona goes through.

Liverpool are seemingly resigned to losing Philippe Coutinho and according to the Sun on Sunday, Jurgen Klopp is ready to refocus his sights on Pulisic. Klopp thinks he can turn the 18-year-old into a global star if he brings him to Anfield.

It is also said that a bid of £30m could be enough to clinch his signature.

“It was the biggest league I followed as a kid and watched. The league has a lot of players, and teams, I liked in the Premier Leagues” said Pulisic when asked about the Reds’ interest last month.

“Right now, it is not something I am looking to get into immediately or anything like that.

“I am happy at Dortmund and I am excited for the rest of my career.”

Liverpool suffers Virgil van Dijk transfer blow

Liverpool have reportedly been dealt a blow over £60m Virgil van Dijk. According to the Daily Telegraph, Southampton wants to reintegrate the Dutchman into first-team training.

It is said the centre-back will accept his situation after he was being left out the club’s pre-season tour of France.

Roma approach Liverpool for out-of-favour defender

According to reports, Roma have made an approach to sign Mamadou Sakho. It is reported that Roma have been told to pay £30m to get their man.

The defender has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace where he spent last season on loan however, the Reds have told the south London outfit they will only be able to sign him on a permanent deal.

Klopp praises Salah after latest performance

Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on Mohamed Salah after his latest performance against Hertha Berlin which he scored his third goal in four preseason games.

A great ball over the top by Philippe Coutinho was capped off with a fine finish from the Egyptian who lobbed the ball over the outrushing goalkeeper into the empty net, and Klopp was quick to compliment both of them after the game.

“I think players like this understand each other,” Klopp said.

“It’s a good thing with having players of this quality. They can connect. The pass from Phil was very nice and the finish from Salah wasn’t too bad also,” Klopp finished.

Liverpool’s next pre-season game will be against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup on Tuesday evening.
