94 – Minutes on the clock when Mane scored in the Merseyside derby
Mane’s last minute winner at Goodison Park was a hugely important goal for more reasons than one, and was the latest goal that the Reds scored all season. The Senegal star then departed for the Africa Cup of Nations as his club suffered a torrid time in his absence, losing countless vital league games and exiting from both the EFL Cup and the FA Cup in a simply dreadful start to the calendar year.
125 – Years since Liverpool Football Club was established
The 2016–17 season was Liverpool’s 125th in existence, and their 54th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. Jurgen Klopp and his side will look to strengthen this summer as they will undeniably continue this trend next season, yet an elusive title is next on the agenda for the Merseyside club.

The not-so-hefty sum may now seem overwhelming for the goalkeeper, who seemingly failed to impress in his first season at the club. With a string of games in perhaps inferior competitions next season, the young German may yet surprise fans and players alike and become a regular in between the sticks for Liverpool.
2 – End of season awards for star signing Sadio Mane
The Senegal international had a fantastic debut season at Anfield and finished with 13 goals in an injury-hit season. He gratefully accepted the Liverpool Players Player of the Year Award and the Liverpool Supporters Player of the Year Award as the club handed out their end of season awards towards the end of the campaign.
22 – Substitute appearances for Divock Origi
The young forward appeared from the bench more times than any other Red this season, and this statistic was even more than his number of starts. Origi has shown glimpses of what he can produce as he drives towards goal, but perhaps has a few areas to work on in order to fully establish himself as a recognizable Premier League striker.
512 – Tackles won in the league
A somewhat shaky defence shaped up on occasion to keep out formidable forwards such as Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Dejan Lovren and co. managed 512 tackles in the Premier League. This may seem a lot, but the number is very worrying considering the side won 677 tackles last season.
27 – Wins from 47 games in all competitions
This positive form took off right at the beginning of the season as Klopp looked like the man to lead the Reds to an elusive league title, yet 11 draws and nine losses sneaked in throughout the campaign as Liverpool just about managed to secure fourth place.
