Liverpool victorious Down-Under
Liverpool finished off their campaign in style with a 3-0 postseason win over Sydney FC at the ANZ Stadium. Despite only arriving in the city 11 hours before kickoff, the Reds put on an excellent show for all the fans, especially during the first half which included all the goals. The line-up mixed youth with experience as legends, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Steve McManaman and Daniel Agger all took to the field in a red shirt.
Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring, in what could be his final game for the club, before Alberto Moreno made it two, in what was probably his final game for the club. Roberto Firmino, who produced an exquisite assist for Moreno’s goals, completed the scoring in just the 39th minute.
Klopp wants signings ASAP
Jürgen Klopp is excited to get to business in the summer window and wants to have all signings completed by the time preseason comes around. After the friendly victory over Sydney FC, Klopp was asked when the signings would begin to arrive. He responded with, “I wish tomorrow but unfortunately that’s not really likely. The best scenario is that you have them for the start of pre-season but I’m not sure if it will happen this time. It’s different with all different players so we will see.”
Big Sam adds a plot twist to Sakho saga
The news that Sam Allardyce was due to hang up his managerial boots wouldn’t initially appear to affect Liverpool too much, but it does add an air of uncertainty to Mamadou Sakho’s future. The Frenchman flourished under Allardyce during his eight-game loan spell and it was presumed that Crystal Palace were readying a £30million bid. However, with Big Sam gone that might not seem a certainty. Southampton and Napoli are also reportedly interested, both of whom are teams with a higher-profile than Crystal Palace, something which would likely appeal to Sakho.
Klopp reunited with physio
Liverpool have completed the signing of Mainz physio, Christopher Rohrbeck. The German was with the club for 14 years, seven of those were with Jurgen Klopp at the helm. Rohrbeck was apparently relishing a new challenge with Liverpool before Mainz allowed him to leave for Merseyside.

Respected football magazine, FourFourTwo have released their list of the 100 most influential people in football. Liverpool were represented three times, in the form of manager, Jurgen Klopp, owner, John W. Henry and former player turned pundit, Jamie Carragher.
