Three Points at The Hawthorns and Summer Transfer Plans Already in Action

Afternoon Bulletin

Firmino and Mignolet helps Liverpool win at the Hawthorns

The Reds were not at their fluid best on Sunday afternoon at the Hawthorns but, Roberto Firmino’s goal proved to be vital as Jurgen Klopp’s men did just enough to get the win on the road. A free-kick from James Milner at the stroke of half-time was flicked on by Lucas Leiva and headed into the net by Firmino.

After the restart, James Milner had a great chance to extend the lead but could only fire wide from Firmino’s cross. Simon Mignolet in Liverpool’s goal was not called upon to make a save until the 80th minute. Matt Phillips wasted a chance to equalise as he forced a save from Mignolet from a tight angle. Liverpool were able to hold on, despite the late assault from West Brom, to secure a 0-1 victory away from home.
