Sturridge fit for Bournemouth
Jurgen Klopp has revealed Daniel Sturridge is fit and in contention to feature in Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth. However, he refused to make a decision on whether he would yet be in the squad for the match.
Sadio Mane, who limped off in the Merseyside derby with a knee injury has been ruled out of the clash.
When asked whether how long Mane will be out for, Klopp replied: “It’s not 100% clear. We have to wait a little bit.”
“I can say for sure he won’t be available for tomorrow.”
“The knee is swollen. We wait for final assessment. It’s possible [his season could be over] but why should I say that now?”
Meanwhile, Liverpool will also be without their captain Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana who have flown out to the States as they look to return in the coming weeks.
Liverpool starlet signs professional contract with the club.
17-year-old Liam Coyle has signed his first professional deal with the club. The midfielder has impressed for the Reds’ Under-18s this season, often captaining the side.
Having impressed Jurgen Klopp after training alongside Liverpool’s first-team stars this term, Liverpool have now handed Coyle a professional contract as reward for his encouraging progress.
Coyle tweeted a picture of him penning his contract and wrote: “Buzzin to have signed my first professional contract with Liverpool.”
Club legend Robbie Fowler confirmed a deal had been done by tweeting: “well done Coyley….”
Jurgen Klopp unhappy with Ronald Koeman remarks
Jurgen Klopp is unhappy with Everton boss Ronald Koeman’s remarks by suggesting Liverpool were guilty of making “bad challenges” in Saturday’s Merseyside derby.
“His biggest mistake is to say both sides made bad challenges. I can’t remember one from our side,” he told reporters. “It’s not worth saying anything more about this. It’s already done. I am emotional. But it’s not worth saying anything [more]. The game is done.”
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley was fortunate not to be shown a straight red for his foul on Dejan Lovren, while Ashley Williams also caught Emre Can with a follow-through challenge.
