Transfer News: Coutinho to Real Madrid?
Philippe Coutinho is reportedly a target for Real Madrid as they make plans for Luka Modric’s shock departure to Bayern Munich. Real president Florentino Perez is reportedly considering cashing in on the 31-year-old for around £30million.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti, Monaco’s Bernardo Silva as well as Coutinho are among the list of players to replace Modric at the Bernabeu.
Also, Daniel Sturridge is reportedly willing to leave Liverpool for West Ham in the summer. The Sun claimed that the England international has told friends that he would consider moving to the London Stadium and has welcomed talks with the Hammers.
Having fallen out of favour with Jurgen Klopp this season, Sturridge has made just 9 starts in his 23 appearances in all competitions and has since fallen behind Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi in the pecking order.
Klopp eye £8m left-back deal
Liverpool are reportedly close to completing a deal for Hull City left-back Andrew Robertson. The 23-year-old Scotland international who joined Hull from Dundee United in the summer of 2014 has made 29 Premier League appearances for the relegation threaten side and has scored once and provided two assists.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understood to be looking for a specialist in the left-back position for the 2017-18 season having had to play James Milner in the left-back position this season.
Liverpool have been also linked with a move for Fulham teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon but face competition from a host of top Premier League clubs. Thus signing Robertson would prove to be a bargain at £8 million for a player with both international and Premier League experience.
Liverpool beat Southampton to summer transfer
According to reports, Liverpool have snapped up 15-year-old goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros. The Czech stopper had spent time on trial at Southampton prior to signing for the Anfield club. Martin Krob, the chief executive of Jaros’ club Slavia, has confirmed the transfer and Liverpool will fork out around £300,000 for the young keeper.
“The agreement exists. Now we are dealing with the details and Jaros will become a Liverpool player in the summer.” He told Czech outlet Aktualne.
Jaros had a five-day trial with the Reds back in October and has done enough to convince Liverpool to make a move for him. Also, Liverpool transfer embargo has forced the Merseyside club to look for foreign deals as the ban only affects transfer from English clubs.
