Midfielder declares himself fit ahead of Everton clash

Georginio Wijnaldum suffered a blow to his head during Netherlands team training ahead of Bulgaria and Italy clashes this month. The 26-year-old suffered spells of nausea immediately after the blow and was first feared that the injury might keep him sidelined for the Merseyside derby on April 1. But the Liverpool Echo quoted Wijnaldum will be fit to face Bulgaria.

“When I got up I felt sick and I felt that I had to throw up,” Wijnaldum said. “The doctor took me straight from the pitch. Fortunately, it’s a bit better. The nausea went away quickly so there is no problem for Saturday.”

Liverpool join race for La Liga defender

Liverpool are reportedly in the rest for one of the most promising centre-backs in La Liga, Gimenez who has fallen out of favour with Diego Simeone this season.

Atletico Madrid are ready to listen to offers for Gimenez and several clubs are interested in his services. According to Spanish outlet AS, Gimenez who has a release clause of £38m wants to move to England. Having entered his final year of contract, this means that Liverpool can snap the defender up at the knockdown price. But they too faced competition from rival Manchester United who are also interested in the 22-year-old.

Liverpool are set to offer a new deal to Ryan Kent

Liverpool are set to offer Ryan Kent new terms to tie him down on a long-term basis. The move comes amid interest from Leeds United and Bournemouth. The 20-year-old winger has spent this season on loan with Championship side Barnsley and delivering some eye-catching performances thus stirring the interest of both Garry Monk and Eddie Howe who are reportedly keen on the young winger.
