The Loan Report

Lazar Markovic – Hull City

The Serbian put in an impressive display in his second full 90 minutes for Hull in their spirited 2-0 loss away at Arsenal. Markovic was on the end of some good chances but failed to finish the moves off. His direct running at the heart of the Arsenal defence caused the home side problems all afternoon. Never more evident than when he was brought down by what appeared to be last man Kieran Gibbs. Hull were unlucky to come away with nothing from that game but in future weeks they will do well and Markovic appears to be a part of that.

Andre Wisdom – Red Bull Salzburg

In their first game back following the winter break, Wisdom helped the Austrian club return to the top of the A. Bundesliga. The 23 year old put in a solid defensive display in the 2-0 victory over St Polten. His only major error of the game was being caught in possession on the edge of his own area, but the goal keeper was on hand to save the effort.

Taiwo Awoniyi – NEC Nijmegen

The young Nigerian striker came on as a first half substitute in his side’s 2-0 Eredivise loss to PEC Zwolle. He failed to impress in his 50 minute spell. Being unable to finish from two good opportunities while the game was goalless possibly cost NEC of any returns from the tie. We will have to wait to see if he is afforded another opportunity.

Pedro Chirivella – Go Ahead Eagles

Following the Eredivise sides first win since November last week, they put in another impressive display against ADO Den Haag. The Spanish midfielder put in a calm performance, , during his side’s 3-1 win. His display lacked any real cutting edge but he kept a cool head and helped to dictate the play throughout the game.

Danny Ward – Huddersfield Town

The Welsh stopper had an impressive display in Huddersfield’s 2-1 win over QPR to move them into third place. The Wales international made some magnificent saves during the game to preserve the narrow win for the promotion chasing side.

Jack Dunn – Tranmere

The young forward made his full debut in the 2-2 draw with Bromley this weekend. Although he was unable to find the net, he did put in a fine performance, forcing the opposition keeper into some good saves.

Mamadou Sahko (Crystal Palace), Jon Flanagan (Burnley) and Brannagan (Fleetwood) were all unused substitutes for their respected sides. Allan (Hertha Berlin) could not play due to being on international duty with Brazil U20
