The Liverpool Loan Report

The Loan Report

Jon Flanagan – Burnley

The 24 year old defender made his second start of Burnley’s cup run and played the full 90 minutes. He was on the wrong side of history as Burnley lost 1-0 to a late goal from non league Lincoln City. It was a poor performance generally for the side and Sean Dyche may well revert to his regular back four when they return to league action.

Pedro Chirivella – Go Ahead Eagles

Although he put in a good performance in his 90 minutes for the relegation threatened Eredivisie side, they still lost 1-0 away to Roda JC. The Spanish playmaker did impress with his rage of passing and midfield play, but was unable to create any meaningful chances.

Danny Ward – Huddersfield Town

The Welsh keeper missed the FA Cup draw with Manchester City at the weekend but did feature in his sides late 3-2 win over Rotherham. There was little he could do to prevent both of Rotherham’s goals and other than that made some good saves.

Lloyd Jones – Swindon Town

The young defender had a mixed week on loan with League One side Swindon. On Tuesday night he turned a cross into his own net in the 2-1 defeat away to Northampton Town. The weekend was better though with Swindon keeping a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at home to Oldham. Jones has made 23 appearances for Swindon in the league this year and they sit in 22nd place.

Ryan Kent – Barnsley

The left midfielder featured in both games for the Tykes this week and played well. In their mid week game away to Aston Villa, Ryan played almost the full match and although it was a good display, he wasn’t able to impact on the score line. That performance meant he started the weekend game against Brighton but they lost 2-0.

Cameron Brannagan – Fleetwood Town

Making his full debut for the League One side he played an hour in the midweek game against Bradford. Cameron then retained his starting place for the next game against MK Dons. Fleetwood again came out winners, this time 1-0 and are up to 4th in the league.

Jack Dunn – Tranmere

The young forward made his second start in Tramere’s 2-0 victory against Eastleigh. Although it was a game without a goal for Jack, he did come close with a few fine efforts.

Lazar Markovic (Hull City) and Mamadou Sahko (Crystal Palace) did not feature this weekend as their teams are already eliminated from the FA Cup.

Andre Wisdom (Red Bull Salzburg) and Taiwo Awoniyi (NEC Nijmegen) were unused substitutes for their teams.
