WHO SHOULD START V NEWCASTLE: MORENO OR ENRIQUE?

Friends Of Liverpool

Liverpool face Newcastle United at Anfield next Monday after their successful victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup this week.

A victory is a must against John Carver’s Geordies to keep up the pressure on the four sides above us and also to keep breathing space between ourselves, Spurs and Southampton in the dreaded Europa League placings.

I believe a club gets an extra £1 million for every higher a league spot they get so that’s also worth bearing in mind.

Liverpool put in a decent display at Ewood Park to beat Tony Boyer’s Blackburn.

This was especially more pleasing given the disastrous defeats to Man Utd and Arsenal.

With that tricky tie out of the way it is time to focus on Newcastle.

Liverpool will still be without suspended duo of Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel and Mommado Sakho is out with a hamstring injury suffered at Ewood park.

Emre Can is available again after a one-match ban and may return.

I don’t rate this Moreno fellow, all he ever does is stand on the halfway line and pass the ball backwards every single time.

Not just against Blackburn but all Season he keeps taking the easy option in passing back to Sakho or Skrtel when he is in the attacking half of the pitch, madness.

He was also caught out for goals against Utd and Arsenal on his own watch, not good enough.

I would much rather have the fit-again Jose Enrique at left back, a solid and experienced pro who can attack when the time is right and he made his long-awaited return  with an assist for the U-21’s v Fulham last Monday.
