Rodgers: We will look to do some business in January

While Brendan Rodgers appears to have dampened down expectatations of big money signings in the January Transfer-Window, he did state that additions would be made, most likely in the forward department as Luis Suarez is our only fit senior striker.

He said:

“It will evolve. The guys are working very well, they have been fantastic, but we all know you need to get in your own types of players before you can say it is your own side.”

“Quality”

he added:

“We need more quality in the final third.”

“We will look to do some business in January to help and support the players here, but that is where we are at as a football club and it is something the owners trust me to grow over time. Eventually we will get there.”

Darren Bent name has resurfaced as a possible loan-signing as he is out of favour at struggling Aston Villa, I would love to see him at Anfield as he is a proven goal-scorer.

Daniel Sturridge is also a possibility as he has played very little first-team football at Chelsea, with £12 million the rumoured fee.

I think Theo Walcott will stay at Arsenal in the end, don’t think we need him as we have young Raheem Sterling there already.

Van Huntelaar would be a great signing for Liverpool, but I won’t be holding my breath on him in this window.
