RODGERS:”I’M NOT WILLING TO PUSH ANDY OUT!”

After Liverpool concluded their pre-season tour of the USA with a comfortable 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in searing heat in Baltimore,

New Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers was quizzed by the media on the future of striker Andy Carroll:

Asked if there had been any bids, he said:

“Not that I am aware of.

Obviously I’ll know more when we get back.

There has been a lot written about Andy, but you saw today he’s happy to be here and he’s worked very well since he’s been here.”

“The reality is he’s still a Liverpool player, he can fit into how I want to play, and he’s happy here.”

“I’m certainly not wishing to push him out of the door.”

That is good news for Carroll and Liverpool, the lad has had his critics, myself included, during the early part of last season when he massively under-performed.

But his fine form towards the end of the season for Liverpool and England has made most people realise that Carroll is a quality forward who should have a future at Anfield.
