Liverpool head into Sunday’s Merseyside derby aiming to bring Everton’s recent upturn in fortunes to a shuddering halt.

The Toffees have won their last two games without conceding a goal and new manager Sam Allardyce will be eager to keep that run going this weekend.

Liverpool have racked up 15 goals in their last three games, but Sunday’s clash at Anfield promises to be a much tighter affair.

The Reds are 2/7 to win the game, with Everton available at 9/1. The draw is on offer at 9/2.

Liverpool are now 8/15 to secure a top-four finish this term, but keep an eye on latest betting offers to secure the best odds.

Alberto Moreno is doubtful for the game after sustaining an injury in Liverpool’s’s 7-0 Champions League win over Spartak Moscow on Wednesday.

Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Bogdan remain sidelined through injury.

Allardyce is unlikely to change the starting eleven that has beaten West Ham 4-0 and Huddersfield 2-0, although Michael Keane is in contention to start.

Long-term absentees Martin Stekelenburg, Ross Barkley, Yannick Bolasie, Funes Mori, Seamus Coleman and James McCarthy all remain on the sidelines.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 14 games against their local rivals in all competitions, although half of those games have ended as draws.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ran out 3-1 winners in the corresponding fixture last term and can be backed at 9/1 to repeat that scoreline this weekend.

Forward Mohamed Salah has been in superb form in recent weeks, scoring seven goals in his last five league games. The Egyptian star is 3/1 to grab the opener against Everton.

Liverpool are heavily fancied by bookmakers to win the derby, but Allardyce’s appointment certainly puts a different slant on proceedings.

After looking set for a battle against relegation Everton have moved up to 10th in the table, and Allardyce would love nothing more than putting one over on Klopp.

The former England boss is the last manager to claim an away win at Anfield having shocked Liverpool with Crystal Palace last season.

Palace recorded a 2-1 victory and Everton are available at 25/1 to match that feat on Sunday.

Revitalised Wayne Rooney will hope to maintain his recent good form and may be worth an interest at 11/4 to get on the scoresheet this weekend.

Liverpool were certainly impressive against Spartak, but it’s unlikely that Allardyce will allow Everton to be rolled over too easily.

A point would suit the visitors and odds of 11/1 for a 1-1 draw could pay dividends this weekend.
