It is almost a given now that Mohamed Salah will find the net every time he puts on a Liverpool shirt, and Saturday evening\u2019s 1-1 draw with Chelsea was no different, with the Egyptian bagging the opening goal just after the hour mark.<\/p>\n
Having made 17 appearances for the Blues during his two-year spell at Stamford Bridge, much of the pre-match build-up focused on the exciting forward, and Salah didn\u2019t disappoint as he constantly threatened his former club all evening, and even broke the deadlock in a game that was destined to end in a draw.<\/p>\n
After tormenting the Chelsea defence throughout the first hour, Salah\u2019s moment finally arrived in the 65th minute when he anticipated Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain\u2019s loose through ball, before running onto the ball and slipping it under Thibaut Courtois with his weaker right foot. The Egyptian international has excited the home fans since his arrival from Roma, and his latest goal means he is now the club\u2019s highest scorer in a single season since Luis Suarez scored 31 in the 2013\/14 campaign.<\/p>\n
He truly has been a revelation since joining the Reds, conveying fantastic ability and deadly pace during every game he has featured, and the draw with Chelsea was no different as he paraded down the right-hand side all evening, before switching to the left and finding the net as the game drew on and the opposition grew more tired.<\/p>\n
Liverpool\u2019s number 11 was by far the standout player for the home side, who seemingly lacked any sense of ambition in the final third, while Eden Hazard simply ran the show in midfield, giving both Jordan Henderson and James Milner a torrid time as they couldn\u2019t get close to the tricky Belgian.<\/p>\n
Salah\u2019s incredible efforts this season saw him bag his 10th league goal in 13 games, and no Liverpool player has scored more in this amount of time, with fellow forward Daniel Sturridge achieving the same feat when he joined the Merseyside club.<\/p>\n
With Salah once again proving that Liverpool\u2019s attackers have delivered this season, the defence were also solid, and have now conceded just two goals in their past nine home games in the league. It was, however, the Egyptian who stole the show and the Man of the Match award, finding the net with ease against one of the top defences in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
