Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne has been ruled out of England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland next month with a back injury.

England manager Gareth Southgate confirmed that the right-back would miss the game against Scotland on June 10 and a friendly with France three days later after withdrawing from the squad.

With Tottenham pair Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier both included in the initial squad for the trips to Hampden Park and the Stade de France, the right-back position should not be an issue for Southgate.

Liverpool have reportedly won the race to sign 16-year-old wonderkid Dal Varesanovic from SK Sarajevo. BiHfootball and Sunsport understands that the youngster rejects a move to Barcelona and instead choose to head to Anfield to join his hero Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool faced strong competition but eventually managed to convince Varesanovic to Anfield after a change of heart by the boy’s parent. He is first understood to be joining Dinamo Zagreb prior to the accepting Liverpool offer.

Liverpool have announced that Jurgen Klopp’s men will head to Dublin this summer as part of their pre-season preparations. The Reds will face La Liga side Athletic Club on August 5th in Dublin, kicking off at 5.15pm at the Aviva Stadium.

This will be the first time the teams have met since the European Cup campaign of 1983/84, which saw Liverpool go on to lift the trophy for the fourth time in Rome.

The game will be held at the Aviva Stadium, where Liverpool last played three years ago when they defeated Shamrock Rovers 4-0.

It is reported that Liverpool have won the race to sign Solanke, fending off interest from Celtic, Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig. The 19-year-old has failed to agree terms on a new contract with English Champions Chelsea, and will opt to join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield instead

Solanke is considered as one of English football’s finest young talents but has struggled to break into the Chelsea first-team, making just one senior appearance for the Blues at the age of 17 in 2014.

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Solanke on a deal worth just shy of £20,000-a-week and a compensation fee will be decided by a tribunal, with the report estimating that fee will be between £2-3m.
