Philippe Coutinho\u2019s goal in Liverpool 2-1 win over Stoke City took his goal tally to 30 goals and is now officially the highest scoring Brazilian in England\u2019s top flight. His goal means that he has overtaken previous record holder, Juninho Paulista.<\/p>\n
Coutinho drew the game level for Liverpool as they trailed Stoke and two minutes later, his compatriot Roberto Firmino scored the winner with a superb volley. Coutinho record might not stand long as Roberto Firmino currently has 20 top-flight goals to his name.<\/p>\n
Reports claimed that Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of Nottingham Forest wonderkid Ben Brereton. It is said that Forest are prepared for bids of at least \u00a310million for the centre-forward who has emerged as one of the most exciting young players outside of the top division.<\/p>\n
The Sun reported that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the 17-year-old and is convinced he can be developed into a modern forward capable of fitting into his team\u2019s playing style.<\/p>\n

On-loan Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho made it clear that he would be happy to play for Liverpool again when his loan spell with Crystal Palace is over. The French defender left Anfield in the January transfer window after falling out of favour with Jurgen Klopp.<\/p>\n
Sakho was one of Liverpool key players last season before failing drug test which kept him out for the rest of the season thus missing the Europa League final in which Liverpool lost to Sevilla. Since the ban, Sakho has not played for Jurgen Klopp side but has made it clear that he is willing to stay in Liverpool.<\/p>\n
Having since impressed at Palace, the south-London side are believed to be keen to make the defender’s stay permanent, but Sakho believes that his long-term future could still be at Liverpool.<\/p>\n
“I still have a contract for three more years. If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so,” Sakho told Telefoot.<\/p>\n
