Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will revert to a strong side when the Reds travel to face Southampton in the EFL Cup semi-final at St Mary\u2019s on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
The changes to his starting line-up will come after Klopp field the youngest-ever side in Liverpool history for the 0-0 draw at home to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup yesterday.<\/p>\n
Klopp\u2019s mean were frustrated by dogged defending from the visitors and a draw means a replay at Home Park \u2014 a game that the Reds could do without with their fixtures coming thick and fast.<\/p>\n
But the bottom line is that they are in the hat for the draw for the fourth round which will take place at 7.10pm later today.<\/p>\n
On Plymouth\u2019s gritty display Klopp said:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt was very disciplined and good. We knew that before. It was not for one second an open game. It was a very dominant game from my side, but with no real chances.”<\/p>\n \u201cOne or two shots, that\u2019s normal the longer the game is. But they did everything they had to do to deserve a rematch. Now we have it, yippee! Plymouth is a good place to go.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Before that, though he must take his charges to the south coast for the first round of a tie that could see them reach Wembley for the final.<\/p>\n Liverpool are then back in league action at the weekend when they go to old rivals Manchester United in the Premier League for a keenly anticipated encounter, kick off is at 4pm on Sunday, January 15.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Liverpool have sold defender Tiago Ilori, 23, to Championship outfit Reading for a \u00a33.75million fee.
