{"id":295,"date":"2012-05-16T21:11:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-16T20:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.friendsofliverpool.com\/2012\/05\/16\/should-capello-replace-kenny-at-anfield\/"},"modified":"2017-02-10T11:24:52","modified_gmt":"2017-02-10T11:24:52","slug":"should-capello-replace-kenny-at-anfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.friendsofliverpool.com\/2012\/05\/should-capello-replace-kenny-at-anfield\/","title":{"rendered":"SHOULD CAPELLO REPLACE KENNY AT ANFIELD?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the sad departure of Kenny Dalglish from Liverpool today, Liverpool&#8217;s owners FSG are looking to appoint a new Manager as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Among the early candidates are:<\/p>\n<p>Roberto Martinez of lowly Wigan.<br \/>\nPaul Lambert of Norwich.<br \/>\nBrendan Rogers of Swansea.<br \/>\nRafa Benitez, former Reds boss.<br \/>\nFabio Capello, highly successful manager.<br \/>\nWhile it is sad to see Kenny Dalglish go, he is, to some extent, the author of his own downfall.<br \/>\nThe failure to bring in a quality forward in the January transfer window when the team badly needed one is possibly the biggest mistake in his 18 months in charge.<br \/>\nHe persevered with Andy Carroll at the cost of goals, wins and points that would have guided Liverpool up the table and would have kept Dalglish in his job.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that Carroll, belatedly found his form is of no consequence to Kenny now.<br \/>\nAnyway, looking to the next Liverpool Manager, the 4th in 2 years, I would go for Fabio Capello.<\/p>\n<p>His CV as a manager is impeccable, he has won the League title with every club he has managed.<br \/>\nHe won 4 Seria A titles with AC Milan and a Champion&#8217;s League v Barcelona in 1994.<br \/>\nHe joined Real Madrid and they won La Liga in his first season there.<br \/>\nHe then went to AS Roma and won them their first League title in 18 years.<br \/>\nHe won the League twice with Juventus.<br \/>\nHe returned to Real Madrid and they won the League again in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>He has amassed Seven Titles in 16 years around Europe and said only last week that he would love to return to England and manage in the Premier League again.<\/p>\n<p>So John and Tom, if you are watching, sign Capello up to the Liverpool job as swiftly as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the sad departure of Kenny Dalglish from Liverpool today, Liverpool&#8217;s owners FSG are looking to appoint a new Manager as soon as possible.
