After Liverpool’s 7-0 demolition of Manchester United last weekend, where does it rank with the rest of their high scoring victories?

There have been other big wins this season under Jurgen Klopp, against the likes of Bournemouth and Rangers, respectively.

Previously, other eras have seen similar goal frenzies.

Under Rafa Benitez, Liverpool beat Besiktas 8-0 in the Champions League.

Gérard Houllier’s Reds also beat Stoke City 8-0 by the same scoreline in the League Cup.

Meanwhile, Kenny Dalglish’s side in the 80s beat London sides Fulham 10-0 and Crystal Palace 9-0.

Before that Bob Paisley’s Anfield machines annihilated Oulun Palloseura 10-1.

Let’s go through each one in turn as we take a stroll down memory lane.

This one is feeling fresh and must bring a smile to every Liverpool fan’s face.

Going into the match, United were the form team of the Premier League and the hosts were seen as languishing behind having had a difficult season.

But Liverpool turned the form book on its head with a majestic attacking display.

And boy were they clinical with seven of their eight shots on goal turning to gold.

Cody Gakpo got the ball rolling just before half-time with an exquisite curling finish.

Then came SIX second-half goals, as Darwin Núñez tapped home from close range for 2-0.

The floodgates quickly opened as Gakpo got his second with a fine finish from an acute angle.

Mohamed Salah then got in on the act as he slammed in a first-time effort.

Núñez then headed in his second to make it five.

Salah then got his second of the match, a significant one as he broke Robbie Fowler’s record to become the club’s all-time top Premier League goal scorer.

There was even time for Bobby Firmino to get on the scoresheet as he stepped off the bench to flick home as his legendary Anfield career comes to a conclusion.

This was Liverpool’s biggest ever win against their long-time arch rivals, and United’s heaviest defeat since 1931.

The Scottish giants took a surprise lead in the 17th minute as Scott Arfield slotted in a fine goal.

But Liverpool rebounded immediately five minutes later as an unmarked Firmino headed in Konstantinos Tsimikas’s corner to net the all-important equaliser.

It was all Klopp’s men thereafter in the second-half, as Firmino stylishly tucked in Joe Gomez’s cross.

Núñez then made it 3-1 with a nice strike into the bottom corner.
