Manchester City made Jack Grealish the \u00a3100 million-man, signing the Aston Villa captain for a record fee for a British player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it stands, Jurgen Klopp has only brought in defender Ibrahima Konat\u00e9 from RB Leipzig for \u00a336 million and Liverpool fans remain adamant there is both money in the bank for new players, and world class players across Europe available for the right price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wijnaldum and Shaqiri departures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Long term midfielders Gini Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri have now joined PSG and Lyon respectively. Midfielder Fabinho had to be deployed at the heart of the defence and who himself got injured several times in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standout form of Nat Philipps and loan signing Ozan Kabak, who was not retained permanently after a successful spell, negated the damage somewhat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, six home defeats in a row sent the club\u2019s title defence up in smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, having again sold a raft of midfielders, supporters have been left perplexed at the lack of transfer activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/DonHusam6\/status\/1431968065491808262\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The principal concern is that Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain will again get injured, further limiting Klopp\u2019s options. This will significantly dampen Liverpool&#8217;s attack at a crucial point in the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other key concern is that the club has a much weaker bench now. A fee as little of \u00a325 million should be enough to tempt the French giants to sell, however, Liverpool and FSG remain cagey in their commitments to acquire a new box to box midfielder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With time running out before the transfer window closes only time will tell if Liverpool have played their cards right or not, and an increasing number of fans don\u2019t
