Liverpool as a city has always been something of a melting pot and his prided itself in welcoming people from all over the world. In that sense, it is perhaps not all that surprising that the club has seen played come in from countless different countries at one point or another.
In some cases, there are obvious nations that the players represent, such as England and Scotland, whilst in others you might be surprised about how few representatives have worn the famous red shirt.
Even when it comes to the home nations, there is an extent to which you might imagine more to have come from some countries than actually have.

Given Liverpool’s Scottish links, you might well imagine that the club had had more Scottish players over the years, whilst those that watched the Rafael Benítez years may feel that the Spanish contingent was larger than it actually is.
A fun game might be to pick a relatively obscure country, such as Zaire, and see if you can figure out who the player was that played for us from there. The important thing to remember is that it is their place of birth rather than where they represented at international level, with Christian Benteke having been born in Kinshasa, Zaire but represented Belgium when he was older.
