How Might Liverpool Players Enjoy Their Downtime This Summer?

What a season for the Reds – it is fair to say that the squad deserve some rest and relaxation during their time off.

It is always interesting to see how players spend their summers, with many of them invariably taking off to party destinations such as Ibiza with their club and/or international teammates, or having a quiet family holiday.

With pre-season likely to be an intense one as the club prepares for its title defence, players will want to make the most of their time off.

Each player has their own personal preferences – Trent Alexander-Arnold (who has since joined Real Madrid) liked to play poker for example – maybe in a different location now, he may want to try his hand at live craps strategy as he looks to adapt to a new system in Spain. So, it got us thinking, who could do what?

Salah To Swot Up?

While Mohamed Salah was pictured on holiday last summer, not many people know that he actually enjoys reading and learning new things during his downtime. Being one of the best players in the world, he is always focused on working on himself and learning new things.

This also intertwines into his passion for health and fitness – another reason for being at the top of his game into his early thirties. So, expect Salah to come back even better next season!

Van Dijk To Work On His Swing?

Apparently, Virgil Van Dijk, who recently signed a new contract at the club is into his golf and it could mean he may enjoy a nice golfing holiday, perhaps in the Algarve this summer.

He has certainly earned some rest, having been such a key part of the squad this season and so – if you’re heading to the south of Portugal this summer – perhaps keep your eyes peeled for the Dutchman.

Aces For Alexis?

A key part of the squad, who Slot likes reportedly, Alexis Mac Allister enjoys a game of tennis. It is good for the club and fans that he likes to keep fit and tennis certainly provides that. Of course, his role in the Liverpool team is very energetic and he also seems to have the build of a tennis player.

Though, he may also enjoy watching the major tournaments that are coming up – summer being the perfect opportunity to enjoy some tennis action. If you’re going to Wimbledon, you may just see him in the crowd!

Szoboszlai To Hit The Court?

It appears that Dominik Szoboszlai likes to play basketball and follows the NBA, which could present the ideal opportunity for him to work on his dribbling. Of course, we’re not talking about his footballing skills here.

If he plays a few friendly games, he’ll stay free of injury – no doubt Slot will be giving him advice on where he can play and how to avoid any major ankle twists though he does seem to have a good sense of balance.

Liverpool’s Emotion-Filled Win Over Preston Was a Suitable Tribute to Diogo

From the moment that the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, hit the headlines, it has been difficult to envision how life could ever return to normal. Any passing always feels like the poem by W. H. Auden, declaring that we should ‘stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone’. Of course, […]

Bookies Make Liverpool Title Favourites for Next Season

At the start of last season, Kopites expected new manager Arne Slot to challenge for a Champions League spot. At most, they’d be in a distant title challenge with either Manchester City or Arsenal. It then came as quite the shock when Liverpool won the title. They did in convincing style, too, with the Reds […]
