Without a doubt, many would have been wondering what life after Jurgen Klopp would be like at Liverpool after such a successful reign but Arne Slot has undoubtedly exceeded expectations this season – the minimum of which would probably have been a top four place and a good cup run.
These have easily been achieved – perhaps unlucky to have lost to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final, an anomalous defeat to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup and outmatched by an impressive PSG side in the Champions League – despite topping the qualification round.
However, they are favourite to win the Premier League across various bookies football betting markets and fans probably couldn’t ask for more. It is reported though, that Slot has his eyes on the transfer window this summer, especially with question marks over the futures of key players; Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold who is likely to leave for Real Madrid. So, who could come in this summer?
Jeremie Frimpong
Long-linked with a move to the Premier League, Liverpool being one of these clubs, the Bayer Leverkusen right-back would be a fantastic replacement for Alexander-Arnold. An assist machine in the Bundesliga, he would definitely suit Liverpool though would likely cost anywhere between £30 million and £50 million.
At only 24, the Dutchman has his prime years ahead of him and definitely could become one of the best right-backs in the world over the next couple of years with the Reds being an ideal club to push on.
Goncalo Inacio
Previously linked with a move to the Premier League, Inacio was a key player under former Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim and could now be open to a move. The 23-year-old centre back would make an ideal replacement for Virgil Van Dijk if he does go, or could form a great partnership with the Dutchman.

Sporting generally hold clubs to ransom when it comes to transfer fees, though even for £60 million, he would represent great value.
Ederson
If Slot felt like he needed a box-to-box midfielder who can do it all, then Atalanta’s Ederson could be the perfect addition. The 25-year-old is very much in his prime and could be a great upgrade on Waturo Endo who Liverpool are reportedly looking to replace.

A dynamic player who is full of energy, he is tough in the tackle, good on the ball and has a great mentality – essentially all attributes that are perfect for the Premier League and, alongside Ryan Gravenberch could help to create a formidable central midfield duo, especially for his transitional play. He wouldn’t come cheap though – probably around the £50 million mark.
Samu Agehowa
Previously known as Samu Omorodion, the Spanish-born Nigerian striker has been a revelation for FC Porto since joining last summer and his style of play is very much reminiscent of that of ex-Red’s striker Fernando Torres. Fast, skillful and an eye for goal, the 20-year-old could be a great upgrade on Darwin Nunez, though he is still quite raw.
If Liverpool want to take a gamble on a striker that could develop into a great player, then this could be an out-of-the-box option.
Justin Kluivert
Whether or not a wide forward acquisition is a replacement for Salah (and/or Luis Diaz who has been linked with Barcelona), the Bournemouth star would be a great signing for the Reds who has essentially had a breakthrough season under boss Andoni Iraola this term who has really got the best out of him.
Liverpool have proven that they are great at taking Premier League players to the next level, as they did when they signed Sadio Mane from Southampton and Kluivert could be another one of those.
