A selection of Trent Alexander-Arnold replacements for Liverpool

Sadly, despite his impact on the team over the years, Trent Alexander-Arnold is leaving Liverpool. As such, Arne Slot and the club’s hierarchy will assess several potential replacements for their assist king, with some reported targets emerging recently.

No Liverpool fan wants to see the England international depart the club, and his influence has been evident this season, but the club has to move on. While fans who use a reputable sportsbook and make predictions online might not be backing Liverpool for the title next season, given the players who could potentially follow Alexander-Arnold out of Anfield, Liverpool has shown time and time again that they can come back and rebuild. After all, no player is bigger than the club, and Arne Slot has proven he can put together a formidable side.

Of course, it’s worth noting that big things are expected of Conor Bradley, and his potential is immense, but he will need competition next season. So, with fans getting used to the idea of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure, we highlight a selection of potential replacements for the beloved academy graduate below.

Omar El Hilali (Espanyol)

A 21-year-old rising star many clubs in Europe are currently keeping tabs on, Omar El Hilali, has emerged as a potential target for the Reds. The Espanyol right-back has apparent ability, and he ranks among some of the best in his position when assessing tackles, interceptions, blocks, and clearances. Far from the finished product, the Spanish-born Morocco international wouldn’t cost much, and he could be a great addition to the squad.

Tino Livramento (Newcastle)

Should Liverpool invest in a player with Premier League experience under his belt, then Newcastle’s Tino Livramento would surely fit the bill. A versatile full-back with a high ceiling, the former Chelsea academy player is only 22 years old and could be sold by Newcastle as they potentially look to balance the books come the end of the season.

Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)

A player Liverpool have been linked with, Jeremie Frimpong is one of Bayer Leverkusen’s prized assets. The attacking full-back is far from an orthodox right-back, but neither is Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Dutchman may, therefore, be seen as the ideal replacement for the Real Madrid-bound wingback, especially as he reportedly has a €40 million release clause.

Martim Fernandes (Porto)

Porto’s esteemed academy has produced some notable stars over the years, and Martim Fernandes looks set to be the next one. The 19-year-old right-back is a key player for the Portuguese giants despite his young age, with his natural ability making him a standout performer for the team on numerous occasions.

Pedro Porro (Tottenham)

Tottenham’s attacking full-back is certainly no Trent Alexander-Arnold, but Pedro Porro has all the attributes needed to shine for Liverpool, given his ability in the attacking third. Porro has bags of energy, and he’s a solid defender. With the Spurs struggling this season, a move to Anfield would surely appeal to the Spaniard.

Arnau Martinez (Girona)

Despite not replicating the type of performances that saw them garner plenty of attention last season, Girona still possesses several quality players. One of them is undoubtedly 21-year-old Arnau Martinez, a well-rounded right-back with bags of potential. Martinez still has some development, but he’s the type of player Arne Slot might want to work with.

Vanderson (Monaco)

Monaco always seems to have excellent youngsters in their books, and Vanderson appears to be another player with massive potential. The 23-year-old is a teammate of Alisson’s and is an accomplished defender and attacker. Barcelona are reportedly circling, though.
