Liverpool Vs Accrington Stanley – FA Cup Magic?

Liverpool take on Accrington Stanley for the second time in both of these clubs histories in the FA Cup the last time being in 1956 when Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners, and with Liverpool as short as 1/100 there’s not much hope for the league two side winning at Anfield, but it is the FA Cup and stranger things have happened in the past anything can happen.

Liverpool Unbeaten

Liverpool are unbeaten at Anfield in their last 12 matches and are averaging 2 or more goals per game in all competitions. Much will depend on team selection with this being against lower league opposition there is a good chance some key players could be rested but if that’s not the case Accrington would be in need of a miracle not just luck to get a result here.

Liverpool had a strong Christmas campaign and though they arguably should have beaten Manchester United the other day they are solid all round the pitch.

Accrington Not Great On The Road

Accrington are hardly setting the world alight in League two either hovering above the relegation zone and winning only one of their last 5 away games, that being said this is the FA Cup and all of the players will relish the chance to cause an upset.

Having to go to Anfield is what really makes this hard for Accrington if they had it in their own back yard its a different ball game.

You wont need a football tipster to tell you that Accrington have no chance in this fixture, regardless of how the TV pundits will build the game up.

The Verdict – An Easy Liverpool Win

I personally think this one could get embarrassing very quickly, unfortunately for Accrington Liverpool are in incredible form and have the home advantage, I can see Liverpool being 1-0 up inside the first 15 minutes and possibly 3-0 up by half time.

I think there will be some key players rested but with the sheer amount of strength in depth with their squad as the game plays out its only going to go more and more in the favour of Liverpool, an upset would be nice but its not going to happen in this game.

Whenever Liverpool lose a football match, especially in this day and age when they have been challenging for honours virtually every season, it is seen as a complete disaster by some.
