Looking ahead to tough tests with Porto and Manchester United

Peter talks to Reds fan and The Kop Table graphic designer Tom Head…

What were your thoughts on the performance against Newcastle?

Was ok, I’m always critical if we don’t win 5-0. Everyone raving about our LB/RB being amazing. However I don’t see this, I feel they’re both really good prospects but you could see glimmers if they’re against a good team, with pace they can get very easily exposed. Look at the West Brom game, for example, Trent had a shocker. Was a good win but still need to be way better against United.

Are we now showing that even if teams come and play with 10 men behind the ball that we will still break them down?

Well, that has been LFC’s issue the past few seasons, we can’t break them down. Klopp realised this and integrated a different attitude each game. Mental attitude is a massive factor. And what I’ve been told is Liverpool’s medical team have stepped up to improve this. Gathering momentum is key and it’s showing faith in people around you is the best. Having Bobby as a 10/9 position is the key.

Who was your mom v Newcastle?

Ox did alright. But it’s still Bobby, he’s irreplaceable.

Although Klopp said he’d go full strength v Porto do you see him making many changes?

Well we are 5-0 up so I’d take a 0-0, to be honest, no point in playing any of the fab three and give some players a rest.

Give us your line up you would pick for Man Utd?

Same team vs Newcastle

Give us your score prediction for both Porto and Man Utd please?

0-0 vs Porto is fine we just need to be professional. United will be tough, they like to play through the wings, which is why my first comments were concerning. We just need to play like we can, 120% and we can beat anyone. I’ll go with 2-1 but we need to come out of the blocks early against United.

There are more modern ones who would also be happy to see Everton finish second every season, […]
