Club News

Talking of Virgil van Dijk, the big Dutch defender told the BBC that he has had to step up his game since his massive January move. He is now starting to get used to Jurgen Klopp’s style of play and the intensity and toughness of training.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has also been praising the team this week. He told the club website how much he enjoys playing behind Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.

“The three of them (Mane, Salah and Firmino) work really well and when they’re playing the way they can, when Bobby is coming deep and the other two are running in behind, it gives you so many options to play in behind or to feet to link up with them. When they’re on song, there is no three you’d rather have in front of you.”

Emre Can also told the club website how every game from now till the end of the season is like a cup final. He sees it a must that the club push for a successful end of the season in the Premier League and in Europe.

The club also released the years financial records yesterday. The new stand raked in an extra £12million, while the overall revenue increased by £62million.
