Peter gets the thoughts of Dave Hendrick on the LFC Season so far…
Give us your Watford recap first Dave?
I thought Mane was really good. One of his best performances of the year. It’s good to see him playing with confidence and being involved in the build-up play so much. He adds a different dimension to the team when he drops deeper and starts to be a playmaker.
I thought Gomez and Robertson were really good as well. The whole defence performed well but the fullbacks, in particular, impressed me.
But it really was the Mo Salah show, wasn’t it? Four goals and a great assist for Bobby, Mo’s the best player in the league right now and hopefully that form continues to the end of the season.
Can you give us your season so far review?
Overall it’s hard not to be very happy with this season I reckon. We’d be challenging for the title if City were just having a normal season rather than an all-time great season. We’re in the 1/4s of the Champions League which is massive for us after the embarrassment we suffered the last time we were in the competition. I think Klopp is making good progress. All of the summer signings have worked out which is massive for a club like us that has to work on a budget. The arrival of Van Dijk has made a huge difference, he seems to inspire confidence in others and especially in the goalkeeper.

I think Klopp goes with his strongest team after the 2-week break and Liverpool win 3-1 because we’re in really good form and Palace are struggling this season.
For all of their faults, Fenway Sports Group have been great at realising when they’ve made a mistake and have backed down. When they wanted to put the ticket prices up in 2016, resulting in a protest in the form of a walkout on 77 minutes, John Henry and co issued an open letter and […]
Liverpool are gearing up to face Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital tomorrow night, with some predicting a heavy loss for the Reds. Coming off the back of a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City, after which some players admitted that they ‘gave up’, it is difficult to see the Merseysiders putting in the kind of […]
As Liverpool fans, we don’t like to lose. Thankfully, it isn’t an experience we’ve had to endure that much in the past decade or so. From the point of Jürgen Klopp’s first full season in charge of the Reds, the most Premier League games that we’ve lost in a campaign is nine, which was the […]
