Carragher Praises Salah, Can Attracting Interest From Top Clubs? U23s Fight For First Place

Club News:

Liverpool head into the game against Newcastle with nearly a clean bill of health. James Milner will undergo late fitness tests after he suffered a knock in the last game. Jordan Henderson is fully fit for Newcastle’s clash.

During his press conference, Jurgen Klopp also provided an update on the contract extensions for Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah:

“Of course we want to keep them but they all have long contracts so it’s not like we have a big rush to do it tomorrow. We are in constant talks, but our first job is to create something that everybody wants to be part of.”

Jamie Carragher has high praise for Mohamed Salah after his blistering start to his Premier League campaign with Liverpool:

“No signing at any English club has made a better start to their Premier League career than Mohamed Salah.” Carragher also added:

“Mohamed Salah does not beat players with the ball. He destroys them without it. Salah does not get involved or seek possession much in the middle of the field.”

Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have been nominated for the PFA Fan’s Player of the Month award and Jurgen Klopp has been nominated for the Manager of the Month award.

Transfer News:

Juventus General Manager Bepe Marotta has stated Juventus are one of many clubs who are interested in Emre Can. Marotta said: “He’s one of the most appetising players both for his value and also because, as you all know, he’s a free transfer in June.”

He also added: “It’s normal that there are clubs lining up to sign him.”

It’s no secret that Emre Can’s contract situation is one Liverpool would want resolved soon with the German becoming a free agent in the summer.

Youth News:

After Liverpool U23s bowed out of the Premier League International cup, they now turn their attention to Leicester City who they face on Monday. Both sides are level on points with Liverpool having a game in hand on the foxes.

Liverpool FC Potential January 2026 Transfers
