Liverpool Draw City In UCL, Klopp’s Anger Over Fixture Change, U18s Face Middlesbrough

Champions League:

Liverpool have been drawn against Manchester City in the Champions League Quarter-Finals. The all-English tie means an English team will be in the Semi-Finals of the competition. The first leg will be played at Anfield on Wednesday 4th April. The return leg will be played on Tuesday 10th April.

Klopp on facing Manchester City:

“I don’t think they thought before the best draw they could have got is Liverpool. That’s a sign for us and how strong we can be. We have a few games to play until then, but I am really looking forward to it and we will give it everything.”

Team News:

Jurgen Klopp could recall Jordan Henderson to the starting lineup when they face Watford on Saturday. Henderson was left out of the lineup when the reds faced Manchester United on Saturday.

Ben Woodburn will not be in the squad for the match against Watford as he recovers from an illness. Woodburn participated in the defeat against Manchester City in the UEFA Youth Cup and has recently been called up to the Wales squad for the China Cup.

Fixture Change:

Liverpool’s fixture against Everton has been rearranged for a 12:30 kick-off on Saturday 7th April. The Merseyside derby will feature in between Liverpool’s Champions League tie against Manchester City.

Klopp wasn’t happy regarding the decision to move the derby:

“I am already angry because the Premier League will move the derby game to 12:30 on Saturday. It’s not too cool – Wednesday night and then Everton on Saturday morning.”

Youth News:

Following their heartbreaking defeat to Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League, Steven Gerrard’s U18s will face Middlesbrough on Saturday 17th March. The reds sit second in the league and trail leaders Manchester United by seven points.

The U23s will also face Middlesbrough on Wednesday 21st March in the Premier League cup. The reds have only won one game in their last six games and will be looking to end a run of three straight defeats.
