Transfer News:
Liverpool’s pursuit of Roma goalkeeper Alisson may have come to an end. The club have made contact with the Brazilian’s representatives to inform them not to expect a bid in the summer. Alisson was highly rated by Jurgen Klopp with the manager keen to make him a part of their squad.
A world record bid would be needed in order to sign the goalkeeper. Klopp has also taken in to account the form of Loris Karius over the last month with the German impressing the manager.
The reds have also been linked with Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland according the Liverpool Echo although a deal is highly unlikely.
Youth News:
Liverpool U19s will face Manchester City on Wednesday afternoon in the UEFA Youth League with the club aiming to reach the Semi-Finals. Steven Gerrard has warned his side that they will need to bring their ‘A-game’ if they are to proceed to the next round.
Gerrard said: “It’s very important that we have no respect for City once that whistle goes and we go and carry our game-plan out that we have been working on for the last couple of days.
We plan to go there and try and win it in the 90 minutes. If it goes to penalties we will deal with that then, but we’ve got a game-plan to win the game in normal time.”
