No Case for Firmino, Gerrard’s United Win, Return of Clyne

No case to answer for Firmino

The FA have ruled that Roberto Firmino has been cleared of an allegation that he racially abused Everton defender Mason Holgate.

Firmino confronted his opponent after being pushed into the stands by Holgate during the FA Cup Third Round clash at Anfield on January 5.

After a six week investigation, the FA have found no evidence of Firmino using a racial term towards Holgate, although the Brazilian admitted that he did insult his opponent in Portuguese.

Around 12 players and officials from both teams were interviwed during the investigation.

United win for Gerrard

Steven Gerrard is celebrating a win over Manchester United again, but this time as a manager.

The Liverpool legend was in charge as his U19 side overcame Nicky Butt’s United U19s 2-0 in the round of 16 UEFA Youth League.

Goals from Ben Woodburn and Rafa Camacho dumped United out in the match at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park.

Clyne back in training

Defender Nathaniel Clyne returned to training at Melwood yesterday following on from the team’s sessions in Marbella.

Right back Clyne has been out all of the season so far but surprised fans when he was spotted in photos of The Reds’ training camp in Marbella.

Following on from this, Clyne was in full team training today and has been named in the clubs’ Champions League squad for the knockout rounds.
