LFC Prepare For Last 16, Porto Without Key Players? U23s Suffer Defeat

Champions League News:

Ahead of their Champions League clash with FC Porto on Wednesday, Liverpool welcome back Nathaniel Clyne into the match day squad as he has resumed full training following his back injury. Clyne has yet to feature this season for Liverpool and it is unlikely he will take part in tomorrow’s game.

Emre Can is unavailable for Wednesday’s clash as he is suspended. Jordan Henderson, who has resumed full training, is expected to fill in for Can.

Ragnar Klavan has been deemed fit by manager Jurgen Klopp. Klavan has missed the last few games with an injury. Joe Gomez will also undergo a late fitness test to see if he will feature tomorrow night.

Following the Champions League game against Porto, Liverpool will travel to Marbella as they begin a four-day training camp. The reds have no game this weekend.

FC Porto:

Porto defender Ivan Marcano will undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability for tomorrow’s Last 16 clash. Marcano hasn’t featured for Porto since January 24th.

Brazilian defender Felipe is also absent for tomorrows game as he is suspended after being sent off in their last group stage game.

Porto’s top scorer Vincent Aboubakar took part in limited training with Porto and is yet to be 100%.

Youngsters:

Liverpool U18s suffered a Merseyside derby defeat on Saturday morning as they lost 3-1. Everton scored three first half goals whilst Liverpool could only net a consolation minutes before half time.
