Swansea Review and WBA Preview by @_Chris_Hurst_

The Kop Table Interview
Peter talks to our regular LFC guest Chris Hurst…

Hello Chris firstly it was a very disappointing result in South Wales but what were your thoughts on the team performance?

Awful mate, absolutely terrible, there was no urgency, no fight in the team they all looked garbage, was so frustrating to watch.

The substitutes bench wasn’t the strongest on Monday with no “game changing” players should Liverpool be looking to strengthen now this has been highlighted?

100% yes but this has been an ongoing issue for god knows how long, we’ve got a good 11 but we’re two injuries away from catastrophe. We needed something to change or someone to change it, we’ve sold Coutinho for £145m and the best we could do from the bench was Danny Ings or Lallana, it’s just not good enough if you want to compete on all fronts.

Not many players stood out but who was your MOM against Swansea?

No one! And I’m being deadly serious no one deserves it and if I had to choose it’d be like saying, well done you were the least crap. So this time I’m not giving to anyone……no tell a lie man of the match Alfie Mawson for them haha.

Do you think Klopp will go with a full strength team against WBA in the FA Cup?

No, I think Solanke or Ings will start as will Lallana and Henderson it will be a decent enough team still and one I hope will be beat them but personally I would play our strongest team as I think it’s our best chance of silverware this season but I think Klopp will prioritise 4th and the CL before the FA Cup.

What changes would you make to the team on Saturday ?

I think I’d give Robertson a rest, also Can and possibly Salah too, bring back Moreno, Henderson and Lallana, I would also be tempted to give Ward a go to be honest, he can’t be any worse then the other two can he.

How important is it to bounce back straight away on Saturday?

It’s always important to get back to winning ways, I’d have preferred it be a league game rather than cup but it is what it is, having sod that though the players who come in will have a point to prove to remain in the team, whoever plays though has to put a shift in.

Liverpool v WBA score prediction and why please?

Think it will be a close game, Pardew will have his team well drilled and will know how to set up to stifle us, an early goal is a must I think, I’ll go 3-0 to LFC.

Big thanks to Chris for the Q&A on FOL.

Why Steven Gerrard should have prolonged his career and helped Jurgen Klopp achieve Liverpool’s ambitions

I’ve always wanted to write about the idea that Steven Gerrard quit too soon. This article will explore the argument that had the former Liverpool captain carried on just a few seasons longer, he could have ended on a high note and helped Klopp’s side get over the line for some vital silverware. Gerrard quit […]

Sturridge returns to action, but it’s all about five-star Wilson

Harry Wilson – Hull City Harry Wilson scored his fifth goal in Hull colours when he opened the scoring for their 5-0 thrashing of Burton Albion. The Welshman picked up the ball on the right-hand side of the box, before accurately placing it in the far corner of the net. From that point on Hull […]
