LFC Prepare for FA Cup, No Incoming Transfers? Injury Blow for U18’s

FA Cup Team News:

Liverpool take on West Brom in a fourth-round FA Cup clash at Anfield and they will be without key players. The reds will be without Adam Lallana (muscle tear), James Milner (dead leg) and Ragnar Klavan (muscle).

However, Daniel Sturridge could be making an appearance against West Brom having been sidelined with an injury the past few weeks. Jordan Henderson and Alberto Moreno have resumed full training and they could also feature against the baggies.

Jurgen Klopp has also confirmed Simon Mignolet will start ahead of Loris Karius and Danny Ward.

Transfer News:

During his press conference, Klopp told reporters that the club are unlikely to sign new players during the transfer window.

Danny Ings will also remain with Liverpool despite loan interests from different clubs.

Inter Milan have made a loan bid for striker Daniel Sturridge although it is unknown as to whether the Englishman will accept. Sturridge has made his intentions clear that he prefers a move to Spanish side Sevilla.

Serbian winger Lazar Markovic is attracting interest from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon and Hull City. Markovic has yet to make an impact at Liverpool since he signed in 2014 for £20m.

Youth Team:

Earlier this week, Liverpool announced the signing of Scottish defender Tony Gallacher from Falkirk for a fee of £200,000. Gallacher is expected to be involved with the U23 side.

Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster is expected to miss the rest of the season after damaging his ankle ligaments. The striker had to be stretchered off against Manchester City two weeks ago. Brewster will be seeing a specialist to determine whether surgery is necessary to repair the damage in his ankle.

Liverpool U23’s will take on Derby County at home in the Premier League 2 division on Sunday.

Liverpool FC Potential January 2026 Transfers

Liverpool have endured a tough time of it in the Premier League and Champions League so far this season, also crashing out of the League Cup. It is, in my opinion, entirely understandable why that might be the case, given the fact that this is a club that has been grieving the loss of a […]
