LFC Bounce Back, Outgoing Transfers, U23’s Still Top

Transfer News:

Daniel Sturridge has completed a loan move to West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies will pay Liverpool a £2m loan fee as well as paying Sturridge’s wages. Newcastle tabled a late offer for the striker but he chose West Brom due to geographical reasons.

Lazar Markovic is attracting interest from numerous clubs including Swansea City and Wolfsburg. Swansea favour a loan move for the Serbian whilst Wolfsburg have expressed an interest for a permanent move. Markovic is entering the last 18 months of his contract and has accepted he has no future under Jurgen Klopp.

Sunderland are set to sign youngster Ovie Ejaria on loan for the rest of the season. Klopp has given the youngster a green light to leave Anfield in order to play regular first-team football.

Lloyd Jones is expected to complete a permanent move to League Two leaders Luton Town. The 22-year old has spent six-and-a-half years with club since he signed from Plymouth.

Club News:

Liverpool go five points clear of Tottenham as they beat Huddersfield 3-0. Goals from Emre Can, Roberto Firmino and a penalty from Mohamed Salah was enough to secure the three points.

Liverpool now turn their attention to Sunday’s clash against Tottenham at Anfield.

Nathaniel Clyne is nearing a return to training after his back injury. Clyne has yet to feature at all this season and could return to training next month.

Youngsters:

Ovie Ejaria’s strike against Derby County was enough to give the U23’s a win. The win keeps Liverpool four points clear of the Premier League 2 table. The win keeps them in good spirits as they travel to Tottenham on Monday 5th February.

Steven Gerrard’s U18’s are in action on Friday as they face Stoke City at home. The reds sit three points behind Chelsea and currently sit fourth in the league.
