Liverpool Rumours Round-Up

Liverpool Transfer Rumours

Liverpool are ready to launch a £40million bid to try and lure Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain away from Arsenal this summer. The Reds have long been linked with a move for the England international but reports now claim that Jurgen Klopp will step up his interest in the hope of wrapping up a deal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium but has yet to pen a new one as the England international could move on in search of regular football in central midfield.

Reports have claimed that Klopp will tell the 23-year-old he can play in his preferred position and that could lead to Oxlade-Chamberlain pushing for a move if the two clubs can agree on a fee.

According to reports, Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Lazio’s 22-year old Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Lazio to Anfield. It is claimed that Liverpool have been following the midfielder’s progress for months and could launch a €28m bid for his services.

Lazio are said to be reluctant to sell their key midfielder but the Reds remained hopeful that €28m is enough to prise the midfielder away. Liverpool are said to be ready to offer him a £59,000 a week wage package if he commits to joining the club.

Milinkovic-Savic scored 4 goals in 34 appearances while providing 7 assists and creating a further 40 chances for teammates last term. He played a huge part in Lazio push to the Coppa Italia final, scoring an impressive 3 goals in 5 appearances.

With RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita going nowhere this summer, Klopp could see the Serbian as an alternative. Milinkovic-Savic mostly operates as a box to box midfielder but is also capable of fulfilling a deeper, more defensive role if necessary.

Liverpool have also reportedly set their sights on Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic as a possible transfer target this summer. The 26-year-old is understood to have a £13m release clause in his contract and would reportedly be keen on a move to Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could line up Tadic if proposed moves for Mohamed Salah falls through. Tadic has scored 17 goals and created 31 more from his 121 appearances during his three years at Southampton.

Newcastle have reportedly cast their eye on Liverpool forward Danny Ings to boost their attack ahead of their Premier League campaign after gaining promotion from the Championship last term. The 24-year-old striker was hailed as a big signing when he completed a £6.5m move to Liverpool from Burnley back in 2015 but he has been hampered with injuries ever since moving to Anfield.

He is currently in rehabilitation for his third serious knee operation. Ings’ injuries hamper his development at Anfield and have seen him fall further down the pecking order at Liverpool. Thus he may find first team opportunities hard to come by next season.

The Tyneside club would give Ings a great chance to stake a claim in the first team for next season so he can finally fulfill the promise he showed at Burnley which earned him his move to Liverpool.
