WATCH THE FINAL AT ANFIELD

With Liverpool’s great 3-0 victory over Villarreal at a packed Anfield last Thursday evening, the clamour for tickets for the Europa League Final will be intense.

Indeed the news from UEFA on Friday that a mere 10,400 tickets will be made available to Liverpool FC for distribution has caused an outcry as tens of thousands more seats would have been snapped up by Liverpool supporters everywhere for the final against Sevilla  in Basel on May 18th.

The St Jakob Park Arena only holds a capacity of less than 35,000, how it was ever granted a Europa League Final is another example of football’s decision makers madness.

The Swiss authorities have warned fans without tickets not to travel Switzerland due to security fears.

A possible solution: Show the game on big screens at Anfield itself, charge £5 or £10 per person, lay on the burgers and chips, have an MC at hand to gee-up the crowd beforehand and create a carnival atmosphere inside Anfield for those many fans unlucky not to get to see the match over in Basel against Sevilla.

Its a win-win idea for all concerned so come on Ian Ayre and FSG do this for the fans.
