Friends Of Liverpool

Liverpool have made clear their ambitions by finally adding a proven goal-scorer in Christian Benteke.

The prolific striker put pen to paper on a five-year deal after meeting Aston Villa’s £32.5 million buy-out clause.

This brings Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool Football Club spending for this Summer near the £80 million mark after also signing Firminho, Ings, Origi & Clyne for sizeable sums.

Add to that the free transfers of James Milner and keeper Adam Bogdan, and its obvious that Liverpool are very serious about achieving success on the pitch and off it too.

The construction of the new Main Stand continues apace with the 620 tonne roof due to be hoisted into place later this week, eventually bringing Anfield up to a 54,000 seater Stadium.

Should be some Season ahead.
