LIVERPOOL DEALT EARLY BLOW TO TITLE HOPES

Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool Manager Brendan Rodgers has been dealt an early title blow with Saturday’s defeat to Aston Villa at Anfield.

This was the new team that the club had invested in with £25 million Lallana, £16 million Balotelli and £20 million Markovic all named in the starting Eleven.

Against Villa, they all failed to impress.

A bit unfair, maybe but another defeat so early in the Season does not bode well for the Campaign ahead.

Make no mistake, Aston Villa took their one and only chance well as Agbonlahor scored the only goal of the game on 9th minute, this allowed Paul Lambert’s team to go for the defence for the rest of the game.

This they did very well, cutting off options for the Liverpool midfield who spent most of the game passing the ball backwards.
